Thank you for signing up for Funathon (https://funathon.devpost.com/), a hackathon hosted on Devpost by Youth Pioneers in STEM. Please join our Discord server (https://discord.gg/ny5pZKXgUP) and give yourself the Funathon Competitor role if you haven't already.
We have many speakers scheduled for today 8/17, and we encourage you to attend, as each one has various incentives! Some are starting super soon, so register ASAP!
1) Funathon Panel (https://forms.gle/JsjdCvrkbDvyCfN68). The panel will take place today 8/17 from 4-5 PM EST, and it features the Head of Virology and Vaccine Discovery at AstraZeneca, a Senior Scientist at Battelle, an epidemiologist with FDNY, and an assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology who also conducts research about how stress affects the brain. They will be sharing valuable information about their career paths, their current projects, and will also be offering useful career advice! If you're participating in the Funathon, you will automatically be entered into a raffle for prizes and gain priority in judging if you join this panel!
2) Meet & Greet (https://zoom.us/j/96389314737?pwd=Qm5pN1JSbHdMRWFIYVd1MWpxSzhtUT09). Interested in speaking directly with professionals willing to mentor you 8/17 at 12:00 PM EST? We're partnered with The American Association of University Women, the Science Technology Entry Program at NYU, and the Neuroscience Initiative at the Advanced Science Research Center. If you're participating in the Funathon, you will automatically be entered into a raffle for prizes and gain priority in judging if you join this event!
3) Speaker Event (https://forms.gle/Z99V6m1AspXj5oPf6). Starting 12:00 PM EST! Tune in for Dr. Yinzhi Cao, an computer science professor at Johns Hopkins University whose research focuses on the security and privacy of our web, network, and mobile systems. Dr. Cao has been awarded the DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) 2022, NSF CAREER 2021, and Amazon Research Awards 2022 and 2017. If you're participating in the Funathon, you will automatically be entered into a raffle for prizes and gain priority in judging if you join this event!
